10 years ago today - the BCA is born

The report of the inaugural meetiing:

I’mdelighted to be writing for the first edition of The Bugle about the recently formed Burton Community Association, which aims to improve the experience of living in Burton through fostering a sense of community and pride in the village.

This might take the form of: promoting networks such as the new parenting club or the book club; organising regular events; backing appeals for village facilities; or simply planting grass verges with bulbs. The important thing is that it should support what villagers want for their village.

BCA was launched with an informal gathering at the Old House @ Home attended by some 30 villagers who identified their priorities for the village, including achildren’s play area, Burton in Bloom, community social events, and allotments. Each of these priorities has been assigned a champion and support team, but more help is still needed. Future Bugle issues will include updates.
