After taking advice from the By Book Benefice, St Mary’s PCC decided the barbecue could go ahead during the period of mourning. As part of the event our churchwarden, Marje Caie, led guests in a toast to the memory of Her Majesty, and a second toast to the future of our new King. A number of guests contributed to the book of condolence.
The event was blessed with favourable weather, good food and pleasant company, and raised £258 for St Mary’s.
